About AHRA

The Alexandria Housing and Redevelopment Authority has helped individuals and families afford decent housing in apartments and home-ownership for more than 30 years. Funding to assist qualified individuals comes from a variety of sources including state and federal programs.
 
The AHRA currently manages 129 public housing units and has a sales program for single family dwellings. Home improvement loans are also available to existing homeowners who qualify under specific income guidelines and size of family.
  • The AHRA serves approximately 250 people per year who have housing needs.
  • The central office is located in Viking Towers at 805 Fillmore Street in Alexandria.
  • Vikingland Home Health can arrange Living-with-Services for tenants in HRA housing.
